How to Get Rust Twitch Drops
Link your accounts
Go to twitch.tv/drops/connections and connect your Steam account. Make sure the Steam account is the one you play Rust on.
Watch a partnered streamer
Search for Rust on Twitch and filter by "Drops Enabled". Any stream with this tag will count toward your progress during an active event.
Claim your drop
Once you hit the required watch time, a notification appears on Twitch. Click Claim within 24 hours — unclaimed drops expire.
Redeem in-game
Launch Rust and open the Steam inventory. Your skin will appear there automatically after claiming.
Common Questions
Does the streamer need to be playing Rust?
Yes — the stream must be categorized under "Rust" on Twitch and have Drops Enabled. The streamer doesn't need to do anything special, just stream Rust during the event window.
Can I watch multiple streamers to progress faster?
No — watch time only counts on one stream at a time. You can switch between streamers, but only the one you're actively watching accumulates time.
Do I need Twitch Prime / Turbo?
No. Rust Twitch Drops are available to all Twitch users — free accounts included. You just need a linked Steam account.
Where do I see my drop progress?
Click your profile icon on Twitch → Drops & Rewards. Your progress bar for each drop is tracked there in real-time.
